The highest ideal of love

When this (Para bhakti) highest ideal of love is reached, philosophy is thrown away; who will then care for it? Freedom, Salvation, Nirvâna - all are thrown away; who cares to become free while in the enjoyment of divine love? "Lord, I do not want wealth, nor friends, nor beauty, nor learning, nor even freedom; let me be born again and again, and be Thou ever my Love. Be Thou ever and ever my Love." "Who cares to become sugar?" says the Bhakta, "I want to taste sugar." Who will then desire to become free and one with God? "I may know that I am He; yet will I take myself away from Him and become different, so that I may enjoy the Beloved." That is what the Bhakta says. Love for love's sake is his highest enjoyment.

Atunci cand acest ideal ultim al iubirii este atins, filosofia este aruncata; cui îi mai pasă de ea atunci? Libertatea, Salvarea, Nirvana - toate sunt uitate; cui îi mai pasa sa devina liber atunci cand se bucura de dragostea divina? „Doamne, nu vreau bogatie, nici prieteni, nici frumusete, nici invatare, nici macar libertate; lasa-ma sa ma nasc iarasi si iarasi, si sa fiu al Tau pentru totdeauna Dragostea mea. Sa fiu al Tau in vecii vecilor Dragostea mea.” „Cine vrea sa devina zahar?” spune Bhakta(devotul indragostit de Dumnezeu),„Vreau sa gust zaharul.” Cine sa mai doreasca sa devina liber si una cu Dumnezeu? „Pot sa stiu ca sunt El; si cu toate astea ma voi departa de El si voi deveni diferit, astfel incat sa ma pot bucura de Iubitul meu.” Asta este ceea ce spune Bhakta. Dragostea de dragul dragostei este cea mai inalta bucurie.
